After breakfast, depart for the Dades Gorges, passing the Skoura Oasis, with its extensive palm groves, and kasbahs. Drive along the oasis to Kela’a M’Gouna, the Valley of the Roses, where you can buy cosmetics made from the roses grown in this fertile area. Stop for mint tea with Berber nomads, then  travel on to the Dades Gorges for lunch. In the afternoon, stroll in the valley or simply relax, before spending the night in a guest house.

After breakfast, drive to Tinghir, at the centre of one of the most beautiful oases in Morocco. Drive or walk beside the cool waters of the steep Todra Gorge, then continue via Tinejdad and the Oasis of Tafilalet near Erfoud, where there are almost one million palm trees. Visit the ancient underground water tunnels (khetteras), comprising hundreds of interlinked shafts, and stop into the workshops along the road, where you’ll see the amazing fossil collections and can purchase artifacts made there. Have lunch in a Berber village. Then after tea and a two-hour camel ride through the Sahara dunes into the sunset, you arrive at your Berber camp for dinner and the night.

After breakfast, ride camels back to the  desert inn for a shower, then depart for Rissani, ancestral home of the ruling Alaouite Dynasty, and Erfoud.  Stop for lunch in Midelt, with its many Berber carpet markets and apple orchards. Cross the Tizi-n-Talrehmt (Pass of the She-Camel) to Azrou, passing through dense cedar forests were you may see Barbary apes along the road. Arrive in Fez in the late afternoon, to be dropped at your hotel or riad.
